The AFC East will be one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL this year. Every team has their own advantage. The Bills have a superstar quarterback in Josh Allen. The New York Jets have a stifling defense with the return of Aaron Rodgers. Meanwhile, the Dolphins have blazing speed all over the field.

As for the Pats, they are headed toward a rebuild but the fanbase is ready to embrace the challenge. With training camp taking place next month, some stories are coming out regarding the Miami Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa. And it isn't positive for them which bodes well for New England.

Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins Hit Crossroad in Contract Talks

Tagovailoa is looking to sign a massive extension but the QB market has exploded over the past few years.

Despite engaging in contract talks, it seems like both sides are still far apart. ESPN's Jeff Darlington was speaking on NFL Live Tuesday and revealed that the Dolphins aren't offering a deal close to the market value.

"Right now, the Dolphins are not offering the contract that is the market value based on [the Jared Goff and Trevor Lawrence] deals that were done. So, if this gets there, it’s just going to require more negotiations and we’re not to panic point just yet."

Trevor Lawrence got a five-year, $275 million deal with $200 million guaranteed this offseason. As for Goff, he got a four-year, $212 million contract that includes $170 million guaranteed.

Lawrence is tied for first in the league with $55 million annually with Goff making $53 million. Since the Dolphins aren't even in that ballpark, it sounds like they will need to have more conversations to get to a middle ground. But it appears as if Miami doesn't want to pony up that kind of money.

If this continues, there will be a lot of drama surrounding Miami going into the season and that's music to the ears of Patriots fans.
