Dolphins Player Sends Threat to Patriots Ahead of Week 8 Matchup
The Miami Dolphins were bathing in the praise from their performance over the first six games. That came to a screeching halt in Week 7, though, as Miami hit a brick wall against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Dolphins' offense was quieted, mustering just 17 points, and the defense gave up plenty of big plays to the Eagles' wide receivers.
It's safe to say Mike McDaniel's squad is feeling embarrassed after being exposed, and they're already putting their next opponent on notice -- which happens to be the New England Patriots.
According to ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques, a Dolphins player said "The next team we play is gonna feel it" after the Eagles loss. That is, of course, the Patriots, who just upset the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Sending a threat like this gives Bill Belichick's team some bulletin board material already as they prepare for Week 8. It's not like New England needed any extra motivation heading into this matchup after falling to Miami in the second contest of the year. That was an especially winnable game, too, so the Patriots know some tighter execution could make all the difference in this one.
The Pats are also riled up after taking down Buffalo at the last second, so the Dolphins may be poking the bear here. New England's offense finally broke out against the Bills, giving this unit plenty of positive momentum to capitalize on. The defense continued to stand strong, meanwhile, holding Josh Allen and co. to just 25 points.
Considering the 'Fins got blown out 48-20 when they faced Buffalo in Week 4, maybe they're not as good as they think they are. The Patriots have the opportunity to make that case by exacting revenge on Sunday.
