Former Boston Celtics star Rajon Rondo was arrested on Sunday on drug and weapons charges in Indiana, according to WDRB news.

NBA News: Rajon Rondo Arrested

Rondo, who last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2021-22 season, was pulled over in Indiana for a traffic violation, which resulted in a vehicle search where a gun, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana were found. Rondo was then taken to a jail in Jackson County, Indiana.

Rondo immediately posted bond but is due to appear in court at a later date.

Rondo, who had a no-contact and emergency protective order against him because of a 2022 incident with a woman, was not allowed to possess a firearm. The woman had alleged that Rondo had a history of "volatile, erratic, and explosive behavior" in the request for the protective order. This order was eventually dismissed after the two sides "reached an agreement."

The four-time All-Star played for the Boston Celtics for the first nine seasons of his career, becoming a four-time All-Star and an NBA champion with the organization. The rest of his career wasn't as successful as he failed to reach the heights he did in Boston. However, he managed to win another title with the Celtics arch-rivals the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
