The NFL catch rule has struck again. Did Dez catch it? Did Calvin Johnson catch it? Jesse James? The ambiguous parameters for a catch in the NFL have left many football fans wondering: "What is even a catch anymore?"

Another case struck on Sunday afternoon, with the Patriots and rookie wideout Ja'Lynn Polk falling victim to Article 7 and the "toe-heel rule" of the NFL rulebook.

With 1:08 remaining in the game, New England trailed 15-10 with the ball at the Miami 12-yard line. Brissett appeared to find Polk over the middle of the field in the back of the endzone for a likely game-winning touchdown. The referees called it a touchdown on the field, but the call was overturned and ruled an incomplete pass upon review.

Polk was incredibly animated on the field while watching the replay on the Gillette Stadium jumbotron. The second-round pick from Washington clearly didn't agree with the call, taking to Instagram later on Sunday night to post the image of his right toe landing inbounds.

The Patriots would fail to complete a pass on third and fourth down, turning the ball over back to the Dolphins on downs. Although New England got the ball back with 29 seconds left, the set of downs from Miami's 12-yard line was their last real shot to win the game.

Following the game, NFL Vice President of Officiating George Stewart explained why Polk's touchdown was overturned. After the game, Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo also acknowledged that the touchdown was the right call.

In Week 4, Polk had another catch ruled incomplete in New England's game versus the San Francisco 49ers. Polk simply replied to a video on the play on Twitter after the game: "catch."

The 37th overall pick in April's draft finished the game against the Dolphins with one catch for 13 yards on six targets.

Polk's touchdown call back on Sunday appears to be a case of correct call, bad rule.
