Jaylen Brown scored a playoff career-high 40 points to lead his Boston Celtics to a 126-110 victory against the Indiana Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals and shared his thoughts on missing his second straight All-NBA team selection.

After hitting the biggest three of the night in Game 1, Brown once again turned in his best game of the postseason in Game 2, connecting on 14-of-27 attempts, including 4-for-10 from deep and 8-of-11 from the free-throw line, as Boston now has a 2-0 lead in the series. He also keyed in on defense, creating stops in transition that disrupted the Pacers' offensive rhythm before finishing with five rebounds, two assists, and one steal to go with his game-high 40 points.

It was the kind of two-way performance that exemplifies the type of impact Jaylen has on a championship-caliber team that finished with the best record in the NBA. The three-time All-Star was asked if being left off the All-NBA team selection on Wednesday night added extra motivation for Game 2 on Thursday.

"No, I wouldn't say that," Brown replied. "I mean, we're two games from the Finals. So, honestly, I don't got the time to give a (expletive)."

Brown, who made the All-NBA Second Team in 2023, was 20 points shy of making it over Phoenix Suns' Devin Booker and Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton in the votes. Jaylen also didn't hold back when asked if he felt his greatness had been slighted or overlooked.

"I watch guys get praised and anointed who I feel like are half as talented as me on either side of the ball,” Brown said after Game 2. “But, at this point in my life, I just embrace it. It comes with being who I am and what I stand for, and I ain’t really changing that. So, I just come out, and I’m grateful to step out onto the floor each and every night, put my best foot forward, and get better each and every year. Whether people appreciate it or not, it is what it is."

Brown's scoring numbers continue to rise in the postseason. He's averaging 24.8 points at a 54.4% clip, including 36.5% from deep in the playoffs and 33.0 points in his last two games.

The Eastern Conference Finals shifts to Indianapolis for Game 3 on Saturday. The C's are 7-point favorites to win that game, and they're now massive -210 favorites to win the NBA Championship. Brown himself is a -125 favorite to be named MVP of the Eastern Conference finals on FanDuel Sportsbook.
