4. New England Patriots

Just because he's becoming a free agent doesn't mean that Elliott won't return to the Patriots.

After all, New England gave him a shot to prove that he still has some juice left in the tank when few teams even considered his services. The season wasn't perfect, but that isn't stopping Elliott from being "open" to the idea of a return as he "loves" both the city and fans, as well as sharing the backfield with Rhamondre Stevenson.

As far as RBs go, Stevenson, JaMycal Hasty, and Kevin Harris are all under contract for the 2024 season. At the same time, Hasty was limited to 10 special teams snaps in his two appearances and doesn't carry a dead cap hit if he's waived this offseason while Harris wasn't exactly impressive, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.

Considering how Elliott has a good connection with offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien, a return is certainly a realistic option. If the Patriots want Stevenson to continue thriving in 2024 and beyond, another season with Elliott — both in the locker room and on the field — could be best.
