The Pats were looking to have a quiet training camp for first-year head coach Jerod Mayo and general manager Eliot Wolf.

That hasn't been the case for them though as there has been contract drama around EDGE Matthew Judon.

The 31-year-old defender is heading into the final season of his four-year, $54.5 million deal. He's openly said that he would like a new deal but that hasn't come yet.

Things continued to take a bad turn at Monday's practice, as Judon seemed to have a disagreement with Mayo. He didn't participate in the padded practice and now he has seen calling out the Pats.

Patriots News: Matthew Judon Talks About the Contract Talks With Pats

Judon was a guest on the "Shut Up Marc" podcast and he talked freely about the contract talks between him and the Pats.

" I don’t wanna be the villain. I don’t wanna be the bad guy. But, it’s like shoot. Help me out. We got the most cap (space) in the league right now bro… and then with that, they don’t even get the money. So, what the hell are y’all doing with it. Like, y’all literally just not using it."

The Pats are sitting on $43 million in cap space per Spotrac and Judon wants them to use some of it on him.

Since joining New England, Judon has been a relentless pass rusher. He's compiled 32 total sacks and has dominated for different stretches.

But regardless, the Pats haven't been in a rush to give him new money. It started to rub Judon the wrong way and it trickled into practice.

As we get closer to the season, this problem will only grow if both sides can't come to an agreement. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this will unfold.
