Four-time Pro Bowler Matthew Judon appears to have accepted his Patriots fate, sarcastically signaling on social media that he's leaving New England after three years with the franchise.

Judon's ongoing contract dispute has been the subject of much debate, with most fans resigned to the idea that he'll leave the rebuilding organization.

One of the most productive defensive linemen in the NFL, Judon's exit would leave a gaping hole on New England's defense as the team tries to rebuild under first-round QB Drake Maye.

Matthew Judon Signals Patriots Exit With Hilarious Tweet

In his three seasons with New England, Judon has 133 tackles and a remarkable 33 sacks. He's a one-man wrecking crew capable of lifting the entire defense but apprently, doesn't feel his future is with the Patriots.

Judon's admittedly hilarious tweet underscores the angst between he and the organization. It's looked for months like the star defender was on his way out, though today's post finalizes that likely outcome.

As New England tries to build around Maye, Judon's theoretical departure obviously throws a wrench into the franchise's plans. Following a disastrous 2023-24 season, the Patriots need as many playmakers as they can get.

Originally a fifth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by Baltimore, Judon's resume speaks for itself. Smart, competitive organizations don't let players of his caliber walk, though it appears New England has already lost this battle.

Considering the embarrassing last few seasons, this is a huge loss for Jerod Mayo and his staff. Perhaps Judon is posting in jest but it sure looks like the Patriots got much worse today.
