It's a new era in New England. Jerod Mayo is now the lead man and the Patriots are sitting on $88.7 million in cap space per OvertheCap. New England will reportedly be active in free agency which is a switch-up. Under Bill Belichick, they usually weren't big spenders on the open market.

That is going to change and they need to focus on offense. In 2023, they were 30th in total offense (276.2), 28th in passing offense (180.5), and 26th in rushing offense (95.7). They need to seriously improve that unit and Matthew Judon is recruiting players to come to town before the legal tampering period begins on Mar. 11 at 12 p.m. ET.

Patriots Rumors: Judon Gives His Pitches for Some Top Free Agents to Sign with the Patriots

On Mar. 6, Judon appeared on the "Good Morning Football" show and made a plea for WR Calvin Ridley and RB Josh Jacobs to sign with the Patriots.

With more juice needed on New England's offense, Judon is eyeing these two studs. He said in regards to Ridley, "Calvin Ridley, come on over to the red, white, and blue. We have a spot for you. Nobody wears zero. It’s all yours. I think you wear like a size nine cleat, we got all the size nine cleats."

He followed that with a pitch to Jacobs. Judon stated, "And then, we have a great running back, and we just need another one. So I’m saying, Josh Jacobs, come on out of Nevada. They haven’t treated you well. You won a rushing title, and nobody even talk about it."

Both of these players would immediately improve the Pats offense. In 2023, Ridley snagged 76 receptions for a team-high 1,016 receiving yards with eight touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Jacobs has compiled 5,545 rushing yards, 1,448 receiving yards, and 46 rushing scores in his five-year career. In 2022, the 26-year-old led the NFL in rushing yards (1,653) with 12 touchdowns.
