New England Patriots haven't been too happy with Bill Belichick's performance this season, but at least he hasn't been nearly as bad as Josh McDaniels.

Since McDaniels was fired on Halloween, a number of embarrassing details have come to light over the past week about his final days with the Las Vegas Raiders. On Sunday morning before Week 9, another humiliating story emerged.

Josh McDaniels Fired

On "The Inside Scoop With Jay Glazer", Fox Sports' Jay Glazer relayed a story about how the Raiders had a team meeting with McDaniels before he was fired. Apparently in the meeting, players and coaches alike both ripped into McDaniels, showing absolutely zero respect for the head coach.

During the meeting, linebackers coach (and now interim head coach) Antonio Pierce referenced the 2007 New York Giants, who upset McDaniels' undefeated Patriots team in that year's Super Bowl. McDaniels did not appreciate the reference, however, and scolded Pierce privately after the meeting. "Don't ever talk about the Patriots like that," McDaniels said.

This meeting and McDaniels' reaction to it essentially cost him his job. Team owner Mark Davis could no longer ignore the obvious divisions and disenchantment with McDaniels in Las Vegas' locker room and decided it was time to make a change.

McDaniels has always shown a strange devotion to New England ever since leaving, often signing former Patriots players to fill out his roster. He also apparently doesn't tolerate any negative comments about his old organization, even when they're meant to inspire his current players.

This is just the latest example of McDaniels being a terrible head coach and not being fit for the job. Time will tell if Bill Belichick ends up bringing McDaniels back to New England again, or if he's truly gone for good.
