The New England Patriots are unexpectedly 1-0 as they prepare for their home opener against the Seattle Seahawks. With the possibility of being 2-0 seeming likelier each passing day, Patriots fans are getting their hopes up for the season. This will likely create an electric atmosphere in Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

To get the excitement levels even higher, the Patriots' social media account teased the potential uniform for the Week 2 matchup. Seeing the beloved silver pants there caused jubilation among the fanbase.

Unfortunately, however, that will not last long. Boston Herald's Doug Kyed reported that the team doesn't intend the silver pants to be a permanent fixture for the season.

"The silver pants that the Patriots will wear in Sunday’s game are not intended to be a permanent change, a spokesperson told me. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The silver pants look great with the blue jerseys."

Ever since the Patriots debuted the silver-gray pants to go with their navy blue jerseys two seasons ago, the look has been a fan favorite. Much to the fans' frustration, however, they have only worn the pants three times since the start of the 2022 season. After seeing the official account share the pants, there was hope that it meant they would wear it more often in 2024.

I'm not alone in saying that the silver-gray pants look much better with the blue jerseys than any other combination. The team clearly doesn't agree with that sentiment for now, so fans will have to suffice with seeing it in the season opener.
