The New England Patriots are a mess right now, both on the field and off.

On the field, they are 2-7 and keep finding new ways to lose. They're last in the AFC East, last in the AFC, and appear headed towards their worst season of the Bill Belichick era.

Things have been bad off the field, too. Bill O'Brien and Bill Belichick appear to constantly be at odds, Belichick is as crusty as ever, and Mac Jones doesn't seem to have the full support of his teammates.

Beyond that, J.C. Jackson has been nothing but trouble since rejoining the Patriots last week. He was benched in Week 9 and won't be traveling to Germany with the team in Week 10 to face the Indianapolis Colts.

New England's center and longtime captain, David Andrews, had a strongly worded message for Jackson.

That's why Andrews has been a captain for the Patriots since 2017. The two-time Super Bowl champ is a true team player who understands the importance of teamwork. That's certainly been a motto in New England, where everyone is expected to do their job and carry their weight.

Jackson hasn't been doing that, and there's no place for it. The Patriots are already shorthanded at several positions and need everyone playing their hardest if they want to scrape out wins. They can't afford to have key players like Jackson slacking off at practice and not doing everything he can to prepare for game day.

Jackson was brought in to help fill a hole at cornerback left by Christian Gonzalez's season-ending injury. Instead, he's only made things worse. That's why he's not going to Germany, and if he doesn't fix his attitude, he may be out of a job soon.
