The New England Patriots have Jerod Mayo and Elliot Wolf in charge as they look to revamp this team. They have a lot of holes, especially on the offensive end but they added a big-time player with the No. 3 overall pick. New England nabbed Drake Maye to be the next franchise signal caller.

With one major position addressed, they still need to improve the offensive line and wide receiver position.

With plenty of veteran playmakers on the market, New England has engaged in trade talks with one specific team.

New England Rumors: The Pats Have Had Trade Talks With The San Francisco 49ers

According to Josina Anderson, the Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers had conversations regarding Deebo Samuel before the NFL Draft.

The Patriots have been trying to improve the WR corp all offseason. They have kicked the tires on San Francisco's Brandon Aiyuk, Cincinnati's Tee Higgins, and tried to sign Calvin Ridley in free agency.

Now they have inquired about Samuel. After selecting Ricky Pearsall in the first round, the 49ers are likely to dish out Samuel instead of Aiyuk.

This could be great news for New England as they desperately need to add a dynamic playmaker. The 28-year-old has the ability to impact the game as a pass catcher but also as a ball carrier. If Samuel was acquired by New England, he would immediately give the team a No. 1 WR.

In five seasons in San Francisco, the South Carolina product recorded 283 receptions, 4,122 receiving yards, 1,007 rushing yards, and 38 total touchdowns.

It may cost the Pats a fourth or fifth-rounder to snag Samuel but that's an easy trade if you ask me.
