This offseason has brought plenty of changes for the New England Patriots following the split from future Hall of Famer Bill Belichick. Jerod Mayo is now leading the team from the locker room, while Eliot Wolf has just been installed as the leading man in the front office.

Both are now set to bring in people who they think will help turn this struggling franchise around, and it turns out Wolf is hiring a well-traveled former football player to join the org.

Insider Neil Stratton reported on Monday that New England is adding Bob Kronenburg as its new assistant director of scouting. Kronenburg has a wealth of experience in the NFL and around other football leagues as well that makes him an asset in player assessment.

Kronenburg went to St. Cloud State, where he played offensive lineman. Despite going undrafted and not suiting up in an NFL game, he went on to professionally play football in the AFL, as well as the Canadian Football League and for NFL Europe (a developmental minor league where he won a championship and was named to the All-NFL Europe team).

The St. Cloud State alum then transitioned to the other side of football, gaining both coaching and scouting roles. He spent over a decade with the Atlanta Falcons, serving as a pro scout and then becoming an assistant offensive line coach in 2019.

Having experience as both a player and on the scouting side should help Wolf's front office as they look for the guys who can help return the Pats to contention.
