The New England Patriots are looking to revamp and change the identity of the franchise. The era of Bill Belichick is officially closed in Foxborough but the Pats have the ability to alter the team. They own the No. 3 overall pick and are in the market for a signal-caller.

It's all but certain that Caleb Williams will go No. 1 overall to the Chicago Bears so that leaves Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and J.J. McCarthy as the potential selection but New England seems to really like Daniels in particular.

Per The Athletic's Jeff Howe, the Pats will have a lengthy meeting on Mar. 26 with Daniels before his Pro Day on Mar. 27. He added that New England will also attend Maye's Pro Day on Mar. 28.

Alex Barth of 985TheSportsHub stated that New England spoke with Daniels at the NFL Scouting Combine and added the former LSU product is slated to have a Top-30 visit with the Patriots.

Patriots News: New England and Jayden Daniels Plan to Meet Before His Pro Day

The Patriots need a franchise quarterback after things didn't work out with Mac Jones. Jacoby Brissett signed a one-year deal and is the perfect veteran mentor.

Daniels is a dynamic, dual-threat playmaker. The California native owns terrific velocity on his passes and is able to make throws on all three levels.

Last season at LSU, Daniels exploded and completed 72% of his throws for 3,812 passing yards with 40 passing scores. He also added 1,134 rushing yards with another 10 rushing touchdowns en route to winning the Heisman Trophy.

Daniels has the skillset to be a franchise quarterback and the Pats are certainly intrigued.

There are a bunch of options on who the Pats can select with the third overall pick. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Jayden Daniels has the second-best odds at +200 to be the selection for New England.
