Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are famously tight-lipped with the media, rarely offering up any more information about their upcoming gameplans than is strictly necessary.

Sometimes rookies get a little over-excited though, and that's what happened when Kayshon Boutte leaked some of Sunday's roster plans against the Washington Commanders:

Boutte has been inactive since he made his NFL debut in Week 1, but with DeVante Parker and Kendirck Bourne both on the shelf this week, there's suddenly room for him to play again. And he made it clear that the Patriots are planning for exactly that.

"Being out since the first week, coming in, there’s huge expectations. So I’m just approaching this week harder than ever."

The team hasn't officially announced that Boutte will be active, and he didn't outright say it himself, but saying that he'll be "coming in" after being out is obviously an indicator that he's been told he's on the active roster against Washington.

Of course, it's not like he's leaking top-secret info here. He's one of the few healthy wide receivers on the roster, so it makes sense that he'd get a chance with Parker and Bourne out.

There's also the fact that he had media availability this week at all — the team was already tipping the plan to suit him up.

Aa guy who completely fell apart in his first NFL game and has been a healthy scratch since isn't going to be taking any chances by blabbing to the media, so you've gotta think he had the all-clear from the team to go ahead and leak his status.

Boutte played 55 snaps in Week 1, but he didn’t manage a single reception on his four targets. He'll look to get the ball in his hands for the first time on an NFL field on Sunday.
