Ahead of the NFL schedule release tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET, the schedule continues to be unkind to the New England Patriots. Although the entire schedule has not yet been released, we do know all of New England's home and away opponents, and the Patriots will have the fourth-most travel in the NFL this season.

Per Sharp Analytics, the Patriots also have the second-hardest strength of schedule in 2024.

A large chunk of that travel is due to a trip across the pond to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Oct. 20 on Monday Night Football. The Patriots also played in Europe last season, facing off against the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt, Germany in Week 10. Another interesting wrinkle to that game, Bill Belichick is set to critique his old team as a premanent fixture on the Manningcast.

New England currently knows three of their matchups for 2024. In addition to the Jaguars game, Jerod Mayo and co. will welcome the Seattle Seahawks to Gillette Stadium in Week 2. In Week 3, the Patriots will head to the Meadowlands for the New York Jets' home opener on Thursday Night Football on Sept. 19.

It had also been previously reported that the organization had requested that the NFL schedule their road games against the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers in back-to-back weeks to alleviate travel. The team was planning on remaining on the West Coast for those two weeks.

After a 4-13 season and a tumultuous offseason, we knew Jerod Mayo and his team would have their work cut out for them. Well, add this to the list of obstacles that they will have to overcome.
