Patriots Should Steal This Free Agent Away From the Bills
The New England Patriots are officially undergoing a rebuild. Jerod Mayo is the lead man in charge and looks to put his imprint on the roster for years to come.
They have retained key players like Mike Onwenu, Kyle Dugger, and Kendrick Bourne while also bringing in Jacoby Brissett. They have quality veterans in the building that can help shape the new culture.
The Buffalo Bills released cornerback Tre'Davious White and he's someone that the Pats should look at bringing in for 2024.
Pats Rumors: New England Would Be Smart to Bring in Tre'Davious White
The injuries have seriously impacted White's career over the past few years. In 2021, White suffered a torn ACL that cost him the rest of the year. He rehabbed his way back onto the field but he sustained another major injury last season.
In Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins, White tore his Achilles and unfortunately missed that season as well. It's been some bad luck for the 29-year-old but when available, he's an effective cornerback.
The LSU product has notched First-Team and Second-Team All-Pro Honors in 2019 and 2020 including making the Pro Bowl in both of those seasons.
In his seven-year career, White has 311 total tackles, 63 pass deflections, and 18 interceptions.
The Pats already have a young corner in Christian Gonzalez who showcased a lot of promise in his rookie year. His season was cut short after he suffered a torn Labrum, notching 17 total stops, three pass breakups, and one interception in four games.
White could mentor Gonzalez if he came to town and if healthy, they could form a nice duo on the backend.
