New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte was arrested on Thursday, as he’s being accused of placing bets on nearly 9,000 bets while underage with a fake account.
Among those thousands of wagers, 17 were on college football games and at least six of them involved six LSU games when he was on the team in 2022, per Wilson Alexander of NOLA.com.

The rookie wideout was reportedly booked on a felony count of computer fraud and a misdemeanor count of gaming prohibited by persons under 21 years of age.

This isn’t great news for the young receiver, who wrapped up his first season in the NFL. Mark Daniels of MassLive reported that the Patriots are aware of the situation. Daniels also posted a statement from the Louisiana State Police.

“On January 25, 2024, Boutte was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish jail on the aforementioned charges. This investigation is still ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.”

LSU also put out a statement and said they were made aware of the allegations against Boutte last summer in July.
