The New England Patriots were one of the busiest teams in the offseason as they didn’t make a ton of splash free-agent signings, but made sure to re-sign a lot of their players from last year’s squad.

One of the Patriots’ notable re-signings this offseason was 25-year-old pass rusher Josh Uche, who shockingly had a down 2023 season. Uche had 15 combined tackles, six quarterback hits, three tackles for loss, and three sacks.

The former second-round pick was re-signed to a one-year, $3 million deal, which gives him a chance to prove himself again with first-time head coach Jerod Mayo. However, one could make the case that the 25-year-old Uche could’ve gotten a better deal from another team.

Therefore, the young pass rusher has reportedly decided to switch to his representation, which isn’t a bad idea as he’s set to become a free agent next offseason.

ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported on Sunday that Uche is back with Drew Rosenhaus as his agent, according to NFL Players Association documents. Rosenhaus initially represented Uche in 2020 when he was selected in the second round from the University of Michigan.

The Patriots would love to see Uche have a bounce-back season as he’s playing for a new deal with New England and other teams across the league. Uche had a ridiculous 2022 season for the Pats and appeared to be the next-best pass rusher in New England.

The former University of Michigan standout had 27 combined tackles, 14 quarterback hits, 11.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. Uche couldn’t duplicate those numbers this past season. But if Uche can get back to that level this season, Rosenhaus will make sure that his client gets paid.
