We are now in April which means it's officially draft month. The NFL Draft is set to take place on April 25-27 and the Patriots are going to be active early in the night.

New England owns the third overall pick and has the opportunity to select a blue-chip prospect that can become the face of the franchise.

Many fans want them to select a new franchise signal-caller with that third selection while others would love to trade back to pile up more draft capital.

It seems like the Pats have interest in the latter and Giants GM Joe Schoen provided some smoke to the fire.

Per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, the Giants are acting like a team who will draft a quarterback. He added Schoen said "nobody is slamming the door” in the Top 3 selections yet when the phone rings.

If New England stands pat, they will have a combination of Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy, or Jayden Daniels to pick from but a trade back could be enticing.

There are holes on the roster that include the offensive line and wide receiver, two positions that are deep in this draft.

If they decided to move back, the likes of Bo Nox and Michael Penix Jr. could be options later in the first round.

With the draft quickly approaching, no one knows if these are just smokescreens but Schoen made it known no one has shutdown on any potential calls.

As of April 2, Daniels and Maye are the +130 co-favorites to be drafted third overall by the Patriots, per FanDuel Sportsbook. McCarthy holds the next-best odds after that, albeit at a distant +400.
