Seahawks Player Thinks Refs Screwed Patriots in Overtime
The New England Patriots had an upset win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 that caught many people by surprise. They tried to carry over that momentum into Week 2 but that didn't happen.
The Pats fell to the Seattle Seahawks 23-20 in overtime, but the officials made a bogus call that led to the loss. And Seattle wide receiver Tyler Lockett even acknowledged that.
Patriots News: Tyler Lockett Believes Refs Blew Call
In overtime, the refs called pass interference on cornerback Jonathan Jones with 7:01 left on the clock. It was perfect coverage by Jones as he blanketed Lockett, but the refs disagreed and threw the flag.
That call gave the Seahawks a free 20 yards and Josh Myers ended up hitting the game-winning field six plays later.
Lockett even told Jones it "wasn't a penalty."
"Straight up, that’s what he told me. It sucks because I feel like that was the play of the game."

If that call wasn't made, it would have been 2nd-and-10 from Seattle's 31-yard line and anything could have happened from there.
Instead, the Pats walked out with a loss and have to regroup on a short week against a division rival.
New England travels to play the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football at MetLife Stadium. This will be Jerod Mayo's first division tilt but he'll have his hands full.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, New England opened as 6.5-point underdogs with the moneyline listed at +245.
