The New England Patriots made a concerted effort to address their offensive line in the 2024 NFL Draft.

In the third round, the Patriots took offensive tackle Caedan Wallace out of Penn State. Then in the fourth round, New England selected offensive guard Layden Robinson out of Texas A&M. Both rookie offensive lineman could find themselves as starters during some point of the regular season as the Patriots look to re-shape their offense.

However, for Wallace and Robinson to work their way up the depth chart, they need to put in the work at training camp. Training camp is a great opportunity for rookies and vets to get the reps they need for the regular season.

At Tuesday’s training camp practice, the Patriots saw Wallace leave the field after getting his left arm/elbow checked, per Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal.

Thankfully, it seems as if the injury wasn’t anything serious. The former Penn State offensive lineman returned to practice and was working with the second team at right tackle, per Bedard.

The Patriots have done a good job at avoiding the injury bug at training camp and hope it will continue into the preseason. New England has a plan for Wallace and Robinson as they believe those two are future building blocks on the offensive line.

With Cole Strange still on the PUP list, Robinson could find himself starting at left guard. As for Wallace, he’s competing for the left tackle job, but it’s clear the Patriots want to see if the former Penn State lineman can hold up on the right side.
