The New England Patriots are entering the 2024 campaign with different expectations with Jerod Mayo and Eliot Wolf now in charge.

Rookies reported to the facility on July 19 with veterans joining them on July 23. They are looking to change the narrative around the team over the past few years since Tom Brady left town.

This offseason, management's focus has been making sure rookie quarterback Drake Maye is surrounded with the right pieces so he can succeed.

Now with training camp on the horizon, a veteran player may be willing to head out of town.

Patriots Rumors: Matthew Judon Hinting Towards Trade to 49ers

EDGE Matthew Judon has been seeking a new long-term deal from New England. He is heading into the final season of a four-year, $54 million contract that he inked in 2021.

There hasn't been much movement on that front and Judon seems willing to be included in a potential deal for San Francisco's Brandon Aiyuk.

Judon's latest retweet on X was about the team failing to make a move for Aiyuk with their abundance of draft picks and salary cap space.

That can be interpreted as him looking to be included in any potential deal for the playmaker. The 31-year-old has been an effective force for New England, logging 32 sacks over three seasons.

The Pats have contacted San Francisco to acquire Aiyuk but that hasn't happened. As we inch closer to the season with Judon and Aiyuk looking for new deals, it may be best for New England to include Judon in any package.

His time in New England might end as he clearly has a side-eye toward management. He's also on the wrong side of 30 which could be why New England doesn't want to shelve out a massive deal for the defender.
