Red Sox Prospect is Stealthy Threat for Call-Up Before June is Over

Blaze Jordan has been 'blazing' his way through the minors...and may just be an underlying call up.

Blaze Jordan was notably one of the best power hitters since he started middle school. At age 13, he hit multiple 500+ ft home runs in Globe Life Park (former Texas Rangers stadium), and won the 2019 High School Home Run Derby with 27 HRs at Progressive Field. He even graduated a year earlier at just 17 years old to accomplish his dream and be eligible for the MLB Draft. In 2020, he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the third round, 89th overall, and signed with the team for $1.75 million.

Now, it looks like he's a major threat to be called up to the big leagues sooner rather than later.

He rose through the system, then stalled out briefly in 2023 after suffering from anxiety and depression, but fortunately returned in 2024. This year, in 2025, he's been realizing his sky-high potential. He started this season in AA Portland and immediately started slugging the ball. He batted .320 with a slugging percentage of .513 and an OPS of .928 in 44 games. In his 150 ABs, he only struck out 19 times.

On June 3rd, he was deservedly promoted to the WooSox. In all of his 15 games, he has been even better. He's been batting .339 with a slugging percentage of .565 and an OPS of .934. Rightfully so, he's been nominated Minor League Player of the Week and has not stopped his torrid pace. Yesterday's game against the Buffalo Bisons was the epitome of this since his call-up to AAA. He went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a walk. Jordan has slugged two home runs so far and has already hit eight doubles with nine RBIs.

If he gets called up, he may have to be their primary DH because of his below-average fielding and range. Will he realistically be called up before June ends? Probably not. However, he's remolded himself as an excellent upcoming player and is going to be an intriguing guy to keep an eye on this season.
