The 2025 MLB season has been a frustrating year for Boston Red Sox fans. After a series of exciting offseason splashes, the Red Sox have dealt with a combination of injuries, underperformance, and questionable managerial decisions that have resulted in a 35-36 record as of June 14, which is good for only fourth in the AL East.

Fortunately, the Red Sox have found another gear lately, having gone 6-2 in their last eight games to bring them within one victory of the .500 mark. Interestingly enough, three of those wins have come in four of Roman Anthony's appearances since the top outfield prospect was finally called up to Boston last week.

Although Anthony's MLB journey is just getting started, the Red Sox just made a decision that signaled the 21-year-old stud isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Red Sox Move Roman Anthony's Locker Between Jarren Duran, Alex Bregman

The Red Sox shifted some lockers around at Fenway Park on Friday, which led to a big development for Anthony. According to WEEI's Rob Bradford, the former 2022 second-rounder will now be sitting between starting left fielder Jalen Duran and third baseman Alex Bregman.

Although a locker room shake-up might not seem like a big deal on paper, the Red Sox placing Anthony between two of their best players hints that they don't have any plans to send him back to Triple-A Worcester in the near future, if ever.

It isn't surprising to see Anthony in the 'Show' by mid-June based on how he was crushing the ball in the minors. He slashed .288/.423/.491 across 58 games (212 at-bats) with the WooSox, racking up 10 home runs, 29 RBIs, 51 walks, and a trio of stolen bases along the way.

Since being called up to the Majors, hitting the ball hasn't been as easy. Anthony only has one hit in his first 15 ABs; however, he has picked up three RBIs. His defense has been solid, for the most part, aside from an unfortunate error committed in his debut game. Having said that, the blunder can be chalked up to some nerves, considering he's been reliable since then.

With Anthony officially joining fellow 'Big 3' top prospects Kristian Campbell and Marcelo Mayer, the future has finally become the present in Boston. Hopefully, the dynamic trio continues to live up to their potential to give the Red Sox enough help to turn the season around, potentially culminating in a playoff return.
