The Red Sox have another underlying prospect that has been hiding in the wings. The team's #19 prospect OF Yophery Rodriguez, once acquired in the infamous Quinn Priester trade, has just won the South Atlantic League Player of the Month award for July.
While many believe the Red Sox have lost the Quinn Priester trade, that may not be for long. Unlike the Brewers themselves, the Sox know how to develop hitters. Rodriguez is just another pint of the endless brewing prospects in the system.

He slashed .342/.375/.539 with seven doubles, one triple, and two home runs in the month. He drove in 15 runs, scored nine, and stole two bases.
Red Sox Prospect Developing at Supersonic Speed
Playing for High-A Greenville, he batted .342 with 26 hits, seven doubles, and 41 total bases. While he's still batting .226 on the season, that just shows how much he's improved since. Last year, he stood out with his plate discipline, limiting his walk rates and having an outstanding eye for pitches outside the strike zone.
His outfield stands out with him being more accurate than having a strong arm, and he is the best fit for a corner outfield spot due to that. According to SoxProspects, Rodriguez has the ceiling of a reserve outfielder, but he has room to add potential to his hitting if he improves his strength in the offseason.
The deal with Rodriguez is that his impact hasn't been the best, but now things have changed since last month. He's been a completely different player since then, and it'll be fun to see what he'll do from this point.
The biggest problem with him isn't actually with him, but with other holes in the Red Sox. Spoiler: The outfield is not one of them. With all the young and formidable talent on the major league roster, especially in that outfield, Rodriguez may be a trade piece soon. CBO Craig Breslow is looking to fix what he should've been able to do at the deadline, and he, among other prospects, may have fizzled out of his plans.
