Veteran WR Petitioning Patriots to Make Massive Trade
Following the Week 14 release of off-season acquisition K.J. Osborn, Kendrick Bourne was the lone veteran receiver remaining on the Patriots’ roster last season. Even though Bourne’s best days may be behind him, he is dedicated to helping the team by trying to recruit premier wide receivers – something that the team desperately needs.
In early January, Bourne took to TikTok to lure former Cincinnati Bengals receiver, Tee Higgins:
"Aye, Tee Higgins. If you out there… come to the Pats, bro. It ain't what it seems, bro. It's going to be lit. Drake Maye and Tee Higgins, touchdown. Look how good that sound. Drake Maye, Tee Higgins, touchdown. Look how good that sound."

On Sunday, Kendrick Bourne lobbied for his former Eastern Washington University (2013-2016) teammate again:
According to Cooper Kupp's X post also on Sunday, the Rams are looking to trade the eight-year veteran:
"I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA."
- Cooper Kupp
While Kupp won’t come cheap, the Patriots head into the 2025 offseason with the most cap space in the NFL and could greatly use a receiver like Kupp. Most notably, in 2021 he led all wide receivers in receptions (145), receiving yards (1947), and receiving touchdowns (16).
Though his best days may be behind him, when the Rams played the Patriots in Week 11 of 2024, Kupp put up 6 receptions for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns.
If I were Elliot Wolf, I would try to acquire Kupp, as he'd give new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels a dynamic player for his Drake Maye-led offense.
