New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady absolutely shredded the Chicago Bears defense on Sunday. The majority of his competitions and touchdown tosses went to wide receiver Brandon LaFell and tight end Rob Gronkowski. The two looked unstoppable as the Patriots passing attack displayed its true capabilities ahead of a huge matchup opposite the Denver Broncos next week.
Brady was remarkably efficient throughout the game. If it wasn’t for a few dropped balls, the veteran signal caller would’ve had a perfect game. He completed 30 of his 35 pass attempts for 354 yards. Brady threw five touchdown passes as well.
Brady, who is now in his 15th season, looked as sharp as ever in the Patriots 51-23 blowout win. He placed the ball on the money all afternoon, especially when he targeted LaFell and Gronkowski. 20 of Brady’s completions were to them.

The Patriots scored on all five of their first-half possessions. It was largely due to the their ability to move the chains with one big catch after the next. They started fast and didn’t slow up until the game was well out of hand.
LaFell kept getting open and as a result, he had himself a career day. He caught 11 balls for 124 yards and a touchdown. His 11 catches marked the most ever of the fifth-year man’s career. LaFell has steadily progressed each week. His hard work has come full circle and he’s now established himself as a go-to play-maker for Brady in the Patriots offense.
Gronkowski turned in one of the best, if not the best performance of his career. When Brady wasn’t hooking up with LaFell, it was he who was being fed. Gronkowski hauled in nine passes for 149 yards and three touchdowns. He and Brady have now connected on 49 total touchdowns.
With the Broncos on the horizon, Gronkowski and LaFell have established themselves as a nightmare tandem. They’ll surely present matchup issues for Denver’s secondary. They’ve built up a great deal of momentum. If that carries over into the upcoming week, Brady and the Patriots will be difficult to slow down.
