New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola is the latest teammate to express excitement over the return of Tom Brady.

The excitement is contagious and why would it not be?  For New England Patriots fans and players, the greatest quarterback in team history has returned and is preparing return to the field Week 5 when the team takes on the Cleveland Browns.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola is one of the players on the offensive side of the ball who will benefit from his return.  Speaking to the media Wedensday, Amendola expressed excitement about having his friend and leader back.

“We’re excited to have our friend back,” said Amendola. “And he’s a good football player. …Obviously, everyone’s psyched, for sure.”

Following a four-game suspension, Brady’s return Sunday will be the first time he has taken the field in a meaningful game since the 20-18 loss in the AFC Championship game.  Those two factors alone present a very pumped up Brady.  Or as Amendola describes it, a very “juiced up” quarterback.

“I mean, he’s going to be juiced up,” said Amendola.  “We’re all going to be ready.  We’re all going to be juiced up.  We’re going to have a lot of good energy out there.”

Garoppolo improving:  According to WEEI, Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was seen throwing passes during practice on Wednesday.  His passes looked good and he didn’t seem to have any discomfort.  With Tom Brady back as the starting quarterback, Garoppolo appears healthy enough to serve as the team’s backup quarterback.

Injury list:  Amongst those who did not practice on Wednesday was linebacker Shea McClellin, running back Brandon Bolden and defensive lineman Vincent Valentine.

Highlighting the list of those limited was running back LeGarrette Blount.  According to multiple reports, Blount is nursing some sort of hip issue.  The big, brusing running back was on quite a role before last week where he ran the ball for just 13 yards.  It should be noted that Blount did miss the tail end of last season do to a hip injury.

Jacoby Brissett, Marcus Cannon, Jonathan Freeny, Garoppolo, Rob Gronkowski, Dont’a Hightower and Joe Thuney round out the other players who were limited on Wednesday.

Roster moves: The Patriots did make a move on Wednesday.  The team announced that they have signed rookie OL Chase Farris to the practice squard.  To make room for Farris, the team released rookie LB Queintin Gause.

Farris, 23, was signed by the Detroit Lions as a rookie free agent out of Ohio State earlier this spring.  He was release in August.  Farris was a former defensive lineman who converted to the offensive line and is one of those versatile players the Patriots love.  The 6-foot-4, 295-pound lineman could provide depth if Cannon and Thuney’s injuries become more serius.
