Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts says he feels good as the team tries to avoid elimination in the ALDS.

What is going on with Xander Bogaerts?  That is the question many Red Sox fans are asking as the 24-year-old shortstop continues to struggle in the American League Division Series.

To be fair to Bogaerts, most of the offense has struggled thus bar.  However, the team needs his bat.  In the two games in Cleveland, he is just 1-for-8 with four strikeouts.  In all honesty, he just doesn’t look good.  So one has to figure if he is battling some sort of injury or fatigue from the wear and tear of the season.

Speaking to WEEI.com Sunday, Bogaerts said he is fine.

"“Now, I feel good,” Bogaerts said.  I don’t have any problems.  We’ve had a lot of time off, in between games.  So I feel rested. Physically, I feel really good.”"

So if its not physical, then it must be mentally.  Either way, Bogaerts has to fix whatever he has going on soon or he will have a long offseason to figure things out.  At least entering a crucial Game 3 he is optimistic he will work through his woes.

"“I’m just trying to slow down the game. Timing is starting to come back slowly,” Bogaerts said. “Hopefully playing here will help a lot. This is our home. I feel good about it.”"

ALDS schedule: Following Sunday’s rainout, the rest of the ALDS schedule was released on Monday.

Game 3 will begin Monday at 6:08 p.m.  If there is a Game 4, it will be played Tuesday afternoon at Fenway Park.  A Game 5 would be played Wednesday night, either at 6:08 p.m. or 8:08 p.m.

The postponement of Game 3 does benefit both teams.  It helps the Cleveland bullpen rest and it also sets up the Red Sox to be able to use Rick Porcello in Game 4 and David Price in a potential Game 5.

Price in Game 5 may not be as beneficial unless he gets his act together and finally pitches well on the big stage.
