Coming off a breakout year, Avery Bradley is looking to become one of the Boston Celtics biggest threats.

Avery Bradley is already a ball hawk defensively.  That was his trademark coming out of college, and it’s what attracted Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics to him.  After a few bumpy years, Bradley finally had a solid season in the 15′-16′ campaign.  He was healthy majority of the season, and only really went down during the playoffs.

There’s no doubt in Celtics fans heads that if he had stayed healthy, Boston would have advanced to the second round of the playoffs.

His 15 points gave this team a much needed boost offensively.  When Bradley went down, he had left an obvious gap on the offensive end.  If the Celtics want to go deep into the playoffs this season, his health is crucial.

More from Boston Celtics

Rolling out a lineup with Bradley, Marcus Smart, Jae Crowder, Al Horford and Jaylen Brown will make opposing teams lives extremely difficult.  That lineup isn’t the sexiest on the offensive end, but Horford provides a definite threat, and Bradley’s improved shooting also needs to be accounted for.

Can he be an All-Star?

There’s a possibility.  He wouldn’t be voted in by fans, given names like Dwyane Wade and Jimmy Butler are in the East.  However, he can get in the same way his teammate Isaiah Thomas did.

The Coaches.

The great thing about coaches getting a say in the subs is they’ll pick guys who deserve to be there.  Guys who are having really great seasons, but it’s getting lost because maybe their team isn’t great.  I firmly believe Isaiah Thomas will be down in New Orleans for the All-Star game, and that new buddy Al Horford will be right there with him.  Avery Bradley is the next closest Celtic in my opinion for an All-Star bid.

Bradley has increased his steals per game every year since he’s been in the league, and I find no reason that will change this season.  If he can stay healthy, Avery Bradley is going to be a big reason that the Boston Celtics go deep into the playoffs.
