The Boston Bruins Need Change Now, Here is three ways to do it

The Boston Bruins  have lost their previous three games in ugly fashion. The team needs to make some changes. At the beginning of the season the teams owner Charlie Jacobs mentioned that he wants a deep playoff run. Something that is looking highly unlikely.

Quick recap of Rangers game:

The only good thing that came out of last night’s game was rookie goaltender Zane McIntyre looked good between the pipes. Even if there was a lack of defense in front of him. The Bruins played a solid first period and scored the first goal the first time this season, then they scored the second, This goal was Austin Czarnik’s first Career goal. There is one upside to a terrible loss.

Boston Bruins got demolished by Rangers. They showed exactly how not to keep a lead, by taking many bad penalties. One was

David Pastrnak

’s hit on

Dan Girardi

who has had injury problems. Pasta hit Giradi high and may have left his feet it is hard to tell in the video but it is definitely a high hit. The League might taking a look at the one and it could be a 1 to 3 game suspension for Pastarnak.

Look back at Minnesota game:

Malcolm Subban may have possibly been the worst 1st round pick ever. That same year Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins drafted goalie Matt Murray. He was selected 83rd overall, while Subban was 24th. I understand some players need time to develop, but if he was drafted in the first round then he should have been ready to go by now. I have seen little improvement since his last shot up here where he also allowed three goals in the second period.

Change 1: Trades

Need to trade for a top 4 D-man. Any at this point would be better than what they have, heck I would take Dennis Seidenberg back. As a matter of fact, he scored a goal last night for his new team, New York Islanders where another former Bruin Johnny Boychuk resides.

Also I think that Jacob Trouba could still  be on the market. I think one of the best guys to try and go after would be Justin Faulk of the Carolina Hurricanes. He is a young defenseman that could add a bit more physicality on the blue line for the Black and Gold. He can also help to contribute offensively.

More from Boston Bruins

The main problem is who do you give up? I would say package a guy like Joe Morrow or Adam McQuaid with a player like David Krejci or even Ryan Spooner. Yes, you lose some offense but I think they have enough of that they have shown that they can score goals. Defense is what is really hurting them.

Change 2: Call-Up’s

Another option would be to start calling up some of the kids. Perhaps Matt Grzelcyk. Or perhaps Jake Debrusk. Maybe it’s time to give Daniel Vladar a call and see what he can do. What they are doing now is not working. Players like Riley Nash, and Jimmy Hayes are good players but they are not playing well. The best way to get the message across s to bench them. Just look at what it did for Ryan Spooner.

Frank Vatrano can hopefully come back from injury soon and be put in the lineup. It seemed like the Bruins wanted him there until his foot injury. If the Bruins are not going to play him then they might as well trade him for a defenseman.

Change 3: Make management changes

One of my favorite idea is to change the management. That mean a clean slate for me. That is not possible during the regular season. To start the Bruins could fire Claude even though the struggles are not his fault. Sometimes players just stop playing for their coach, especially when that coach has been here for a decade. Another option would be to fire Cam Neely, some people may say things like, you can’t do that he’s a Boston Legend. Him being a legend does not mean that he can manage a hockey team well. He has made many questionable moves over his management career. The biggest ones would be trading Phil Kessel and Tyler Seguin for a bag of pucks. The only person from those trades that is still with the Bruins is Joe Morrow.
