New England Patriots are holding out hope that Dion Lewis will be ready for the Week 10 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Tom Brady could have another weapon available when the team returns to game action in Week 10.  The New England Patriots are hopeful that running back Dion Lewis will be ready just in time to face the Seattle Seahawks

Coming off knee surgery, it is unrealistic to believe that Lewis will be as explosive as he was prior to his injury, but he has participated in all three practice since returning last Thursday.  Can he be nearly as explosive with his jump cutting and acceleration?  According to running backs coach Ivan Fears, it is hard to tell as of right now.

More from New England Patriots

"“That’s always hard to,” said Fears via CSNNE.com. “We haven’t seen him that much, let’s be honest. He just started practicing with us and hopefully we’ll see a lot more in the next couple of days here and of course next week.”"

The Patriots will be cautious with how they move Lewis alone.  The good news is that they don’t need him to do a whole lot when he returns.  With LeGarrette Blount having a good game and the emergence of James White, the New England Patriots can afford to move him back into the flow in little doses.

The team does have until Nov. 17 to activate him, but the mere possibility is exciting to teammates like Blount.

"“It’s really exciting,” Blount said via the Boston Herald. “James (White) is playing great. I’m playing pretty good. Brandon (Bolden) is playing good for us when we need him to. Whenever we add Dion to the mix, that’s just another weapon that is going to be tough for a lot of defenders to defend. I don’t know how that’s going to be. Obviously, I’m not a coach. But it’s always fun watching him play.”"

If and when he returns, opposing defenses will have to find a way to defend against him, Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett, Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan and James White.  Brady will have many options to spread the ball around to.

Even if Lewis is only at eighty-five percent, his return still makes the offense very scary.
