Former New England Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe admitted that he did not see Tom Brady’s success in the league coming.

Tom Brady is playing at a high level at the age of 39 and Drew Bledsoe, the man he replaced, is admiring what he has accomplished.  The former New England Patriots quarterback took some time Wednesday to share his thoughts on Brady and his success in the league.

Bledsoe admitted that he didn’t think Brady would be a long-term starter in the NFL.  He saw him as a hard worker with a commitment to stick around, but didn’t foresee him becoming one of the best in the league.

"“I don’t think anybody really saw the run that he’s been on coming,” Bledsoe said via the Boston Herald. “It’s a confluence of events. Obviously he’s playing for a great organization that’s helped him that goes along with all the things that he’s brought. I figured he’d be around the league for a long time just because he was a hard-working guy that had a great attitude and all that. I figured he’d be around for a long time, but I don’t know that I ever thought he would be a starter, to be honest with you. (He was) just a skinny kid out of Michigan.”"

To Bledsoe’s credit, no one saw the run Brady is on coming.  The fact that he is playing at such a high-level at his age has many impressed.  The former quarterback is not only admiring his MVP-type season this year, but believes Brady has quite a few more years to play.

"“I think Tommy can play for a long time,” Bledsoe said.  “He takes great care of himself. He’s been such a great leader for this organization and I think he can kind of go for a while now. It will be interesting.”"
