New England Patriots wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell is on the rise in fantasy football, but he could care less.

Tom Brady has a new weapon in rookie wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell.  Over the last few weeks, the University of Georgia alum has seen his stock rise on the football field and in fantasy football.  The New England Patriots receiver is flattered, but doesn’t know much about what his value in fantasy football means.

"“I have family members mention it, but I never know what they’re talking about,” Mitchell said Friday via Yahoo Sports!. “I’m not sure how that works. If someone said it, I’d probably have no idea what it means.”"

Perhaps that is a good thing.  The rookie has been touted as a hard worker throughout training camp and is finally getting his opportunity.  With injuries to Rob Gronkowski and now Danny Amendola, Mitchell has seen his playing time and targets increase dramatically.

What is promising and has fantasy owners clamoring over Mitchell is the fact that he is taking advantage of his opportunity.  He also looks like the type of receiver Brady loves to target as he fits the mold of a David Givens and Brandon LaFell.

Champions off the field: Julian Edelman read his children’s book, “Flying High,” Wednesday night at a fundraising event for Christmas in the City.

The book is about rejection, working hard and succeeding.  The characters in the book are a squirrel, a goat named Tom and a wise owl that resembles Bill Belichick.  The children’s book teaches kids to aim high and never give up on goals.

Edelman said the best way for him to share this story, which resembles his own journey, was through a children’s book.

"“I always kind of wanted to write one because I wasn’t the best reader when I was a kid,” Julian said. “Being able to give a message in an easy way for kids to be able to retain, those were the books I enjoyed when I was a kid. It was just natural fitting.”"

Injury report:  Wide receiver Danny Amendola was the only player to miss practice on Friday, but there were five players limited including tight end Martellus Bennett.

Bennett, who has been nursing an ankle and shoulder injury, is expected to play on Sunday.  He admitted Thursday that he is not 100 percent.  Among the others who were limited in practice were Eric Rowe, Matthew Slater, Elandon Roberts and Jordan Richards.
