New England Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett feels he has found a home in Foxboro.

Traded from Chicago to the New England Patriots in the offseason, Martellus Bennett is enjoying winning football and a potential chance at a Super Bowl.  Along with catching passes from a future Hall-of-Fame quarterback, why wouldn’t the well-traveled tight end want to settle down in Foxboro?

Speaking to the media Thursday, Bennett talked about his desire to remain with the team after the season ends with one year left on his contract.

More from New England Patriots

"“I love it here,” Bennett said via ESPN.  “We’ll figure it out when it’s time to figure it out, but my family loves it here, I love being a part of this team, this organization, and this city.  When it comes around, it comes around.  I’m not really tripping, like I said.  I save my money pretty good.  I’ve got a good, diverse portfolio, so I’m not really tripping right now.”"

Sounds like Bennett is willing to take a hometown discount to remain in New England now that he has had a taste of winning.  It is also a positive that he loves the organization much more than his previous teams.

The very outspoken tight end has taken shots at both the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys.  Of course, those teams weren’t winning while he was on the team.  And speaking of winning, Bennett maintained that his focus right now is on winning a championship.  Don’t get it twisted, however, he is not obsessed with winning the big game.

"“I wouldn’t really say [I’m] craving the ring, I just crave the big game moments and playing in games that matter,” Bennett said.  “A lot of times, you don’t really get to do things that matter and I have a chance to do that right now.”"

Right now Martellus Bennett and the New England Patriots are enjoying a bye week and preparing to host either the Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders or Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium.

His return strengthens the possibility that he will be available for the team’s divisional-round playoff game Jan. 14.  With Mitchell back in the mix and potentially Danny Amendola, Tom Brady will have many weapons to get the ball to.

Mitchell finished the season with 32 catches for 401 yards and four touchdowns.  More importantly, he seemed to have inserted himself into Brady’s circle of trust.
