New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount is set to face his former team again on Sunday.  He says he is focused on winning, not payback against Steelers.

One of the side stories to this Sunday’s AFC championship game between the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers will be LeGarrette Blount’s chance to stick it to his former team.

While Blount is downplaying his chance for payback and is more focused on winning, a similar performance like the one he had in the two team’s Week Seven matchup would make advancing to the Super Bowl extra sweet.

In that matchup, Blount ran for a season-high 127 yards to go along with two touchdowns.  He torched the Steelers’ defense that game as he ran the ball 24 times and averaged 5.3 yards per carry. It was his best statistically game of the season and one he will need to mirror on Sunday.

The 30-year-old back, who was released from Pittsburgh after walking off the sideline during a Monday night game, was picked up by the Patriots that same season and went on to help the team with the Super Bowl.  As it would seem Blount got the best of the situation, a victory Sunday would add punctuation to how he performs against his former team.

As far as what LeGarrette Blount is thinking about the matchup, he told the media on Wednesday that his main priority is on winning.

"“Nah.  I’m going to go out there and play just like I play against everybody else,” Blount said via the Providence Journal.  “It’s more about us than them.  We’re focused on the task at hand.  We’re focused on what we’ve got to do to put ourselves in the best position to win.”"

Rob Housler: While the team prepares for this Sunday’s AFC championship game, the team is making moves for next year’s roster.  According to NESN, the team has signed tight end Rob Housler to a reserve/future contract.

At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Housler has 109 career receptions for 1,166 yards with one touchdowns.  He most recently played for the Chicago Bears and adds some depth to the position as Rob Gronkowski will be the only tight end under contract once the season is over.
