More from New England Patriots

  1. NFL teams were 0-124 all-time in the playoffs when down by 17+ entering the 4th quarter.
  2. The Falcons’ win probability was 99.6%, according to ESPN, after Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski hit a 33-yard field goal to cut New England’s deficit to 16 points.
  3. Tom Brady threw for 466 yards, a Super Bowl record. Brady broke former St. Louis Rams QB Kurt Warner’s mark of 414 yards against the Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV.
  4. Brady’s 43 completions were also a new Super Bowl record.
  5. New England ran 93 plays, breaking the previous NFL record (regular and postseason) held by the Steelers at 84 in Super Bowl XXX. In comparison, the Atlanta Falcons ran just 46 plays.
