The James White game-winning touchdown in  the Patriots Super Bowl LI victory was reviewed according to the NFL senior vice president of officiating Dean Blandino.

The parade has happened and both the winning and losing teams of Super Bowl LI have moved on to the offseason.  To add some closure, Dean Blandino has confirmed that the game-winning touchdown scored by New England Patriots running back James White was reviewed by the officiating staff.

As all touchdowns are reviewed, it was hard to tell with White’s TD because of all the celebration that went on once he scored.  There were even scenes of Julian Edelman pushing people off the field, because he didn’t think the game was over due to a review.  Blandino, however, said the review happened quickly.

"“Remember in overtime you don’t kick the extra point so the officials were briefed prior to the start of the drive that if we had a touchdown and it was close, replay is going to stop the game immediately to review the play,” Blandino said via NBC Sports.  “We have to keep the sidelines off the field; try to keep everybody off the field.  Almost impossible in this situation but we are going to review this play if it’s remotely close.”More from Chowder and Champions3 Midseason Chaim Bloom Decisions That Have Killed the 2023 Red Sox10 Patriots Who Will Be Cut by Tuesday’s Roster DeadlineMLB Screws Red Sox Fans With Broadcast for Mookie Betts Return3 Most Underpaid Celtics Heading Into the 2023 SeasonRed Sox Continue Rollercoaster Season With Massive Win"

With the blasts of confetti and the excitement of players and the media, the officials went able to keep the sidelines in check.  But, when the most historic comeback in Super Bowl history occurs, no one will hold that against the officials.

Besides, the touchdown was confirmed upon further review!

James White game-winning ball:  Tom Brady’s jersey is not the only memorabilia that went missing immediately following the Super Bowl LI victory.  Appearing on the “Dan Patrick Show” on Monday, Patriots running back James White said he has no idea where the football went after he scored to clinch the team’s fifth Super Bowl victory.

"“I actually don’t know what I did with the football,” White said via Sports Illustrated.  “I left it on the ground and started running…I wasn’t thinking in that moment, I was too busy sprinting down the field.”"

Chris Long skipping White House visit:  While the Patriots will spend all offseason celebrating their Super Bowl victory, a few players plan on skipping the team’s upcoming celebration at the White House.

Martellus Bennett and defensive co-captains Devin McCourty and Dont’a Hightower have all declared that they do not plan on going to the White House for political reasons.  While Super Bowl hero James White is still unsure he will attend, veteran defensive end said via Twitter that he also plans on skipping as well.

There are probably more Patriots players who will not attend, but the reason why this is more of a story is because owner Robert Kraft, head coach Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are all good friends and supporters of President Donald Trump.
