The Boston Celtics defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 115-95 Friday night on the road, winning the season series. Rookie Jaylen Brown was a highlight reel all night long.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics are completely different teams than they have been at the peak of their rivalry. The Lakers are simply aiming to better themselves each game.

Boston meanwhile is second in the Eastern Conference and is a threat to the Cavaliers. Most expected the Celtics to take the game against the Lakers, but few thought it would be such a dominating victory.

More from Boston Celtics

The Celtics had a 70-point first half, and a 30-point lead early in the 3rd quarter. Boston won the game easily behind the play of Isaiah Thomas, Amir Johnson, and Jaylen Brown. Thomas went for 18 points and 8 assists, while Amir Johnson added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

In fact, every Boston starter scored over 10 points. Brown also went for 16 points to go along with 8 rebounds.

It was a true team game as no player scored more than 18 points, but the team put up 115. The LA Lakers were embarrassed on their home court.

The highlight of the night came from Isaiah Thomas leaving an alley-oop off the backboard for Jaylen Brown.

The Celtics dominated all night long, and Brown showed that he can develop into a superstar player to go along with Isaiah Thomas.

The new alley-oop king in the East is JB. The rookie will surely continue to gain more playing time and will be crucial to a Celtics playoff run.

The Celtics are on a roll, and are just 3.0 games behind the Cleveland team they defeated just a few days ago. They’re 3.0 games ahead of Washington and Toronto and are 5.5 games ahead of Atlanta.

As things stand, Boston would face off against the 31-30 Indiana Pacers in the first round.
