New England Patriots running back James White is still basking in the glow of his Super Bowl LI performance.  A former Wisconsin teammate was thrilled watching him come through.

Super Bowl LI hero James White not only ignited up New England Patriots teammates and fans with his big game performance, he also ‘pumped’ one of his former Wisconsin Badgers teammates who happens to be one of the top running back prospects in the NFL draft.

Corey Clement, who is a potential mid-to late-round pick in the draft, watched with excitement as his friend and former teammate put on the performance of his life.  White played a monumental role in the Patriots improbable 25-point comeback against the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl.

As one of the many NFL prospects working out at the NFL Combine, Clement was asked about his relationship with White and how he has helped him prepare for his transition to the professional level.

"“I got a relationship with James White.  I always talk to him as a friend,” Clement said via Patriots.com.  “I don’t like to approach anybody like, ‘Oh, you’re on the Patriots, let me talk to you some different way.’ But me and James can have a friendly conversation without even talking about football.”"

Often times, those are the type of bonds that help players like Clement adjust at the NFL level. Players like Clement are also inspired when they witness the type of performances James White displayed in one of the biggest games of his life.

"“I was definitely pumped.  To see them come back like that was awesome,” Clement said in regards to White’s three-touchdown game.  “For James to even be the Super Bowl hero and to say I played with a gay like James White.  That’s once in a lifetime, basically.”"

The New England Patriots will take a running back at some point in the draft.  Although they more than likely won’t take one in the first round, if a player like Clement somehow slips to the end of the second round, perhaps the two will be teammates again.
