The New England Patriots have been linked to the Seahawks’ Richard Sherman this offseason. Could a third team join the party for a draft day blockbuster?

The New England Patriots discussed the possibility of a trade for Richard Sherman earlier this offseason. They’ve also been linked to the Cleveland Browns for a Jimmy Garoppolo trade.

Could all three sides come together for a draft day blockbuster trade?

One writer at CBS Sports, Will Brinson, thinks it can happen. In fact, in his latest NFL mock draft he details just how this trade could play out.

Brinson suggest that the Seahawks asking price for Richard Sherman may be too much for the Patriots to handle on their own.

"“The Seahawks reportedly want a Darrelle Revis-style package in exchange for Sherman (Revis was traded from the Jets to the Bucs for the No. 13 overall pick and a fourth-round pick), which is a deal-breaker for the Patriots because they don’t have a first-round pick this year.”"

Thankfully for the New England Patriots, the Cleveland Browns have the picks to dish out and the need for a starting quarterback. Insert Jimmy Garoppolo.

"“In this hypothetical deal, the Seahawks send Sherman to the Patriots, the Patriots send Garoppolo to the Browns, and the Browns send the No. 12 overall pick plus a conditional fourth-round pick to the Seahawks as well as the No. 33 overall pick to the Patriots.”"

This is a deal that helps all parties involved, so the possibility of this is not that absurd. If the Seahawks really are willing to trade Sherman, this is a deal they should take.

Cleveland would retain their #1 overall pick, likely selecting pass rusher Myles Garrett. They’d also, hopefully, have their franchise QB in Garoppolo. Seattle would have the #12 pick now, and would likely be able to land some much needed offensive line help.

Just imagine a New England Patriots secondary with Stephon Gilmore, Richard Sherman and Malcolm Butler!

Brinson included a bonus pick in his mock draft, the 33rd pick that New England would receive in this trade. He has the Patriots selecting Michigan’s Jabril Peppers.
