New England Patriots: Realistically, how much longer will Tom Brady play?
Question surrounding Tom Brady’s concussion history, or non-history, came up today. This got me thinking, how long will TB12 really play?
Could Tom Brady play for the New England Patriots until he’s 50? Maybe. But realistically how many more years should we be looking at for TB12?
Brady has never been listed on an injury report with a concussion, but his wife Giselle Bundchen recently slipped and said he has suffered from them. That could change things in terms of his time left in the NFL.
As an extremely health conscious person, will Tom Brady continue harming his body if he truly has been suffering from concussion systems? The NFL even released a statement in regards to the situation.
"“There are no records that indicate that Mr. Brady suffered a head injury or concussion, or exhibited or complained of concussion symptoms.”"
The NFLPA will look into the situation further.
Regardless of how this shakes out, it certainly brings up questions on how much longer Brady has in the league. His former teammate, the newly retired Sebastian Vollmer, thinks Brady will play until he’s 50.
"“He is probably going to play until he’s 50. There may be a 10-year reunion and I am coming out in a suit and shaking hands and he is still warming up throwing the football. That is the type of guy he is.”"

As much as I wish this were true, I just have to disagree. I think Brady will be a QB in the NFL with the Patriots for 3-4 more years. He could possibly go five more seasons. Time catches up with everyone, no matter how much avocado ice cream you eat. Father time caught up to Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, and Joe Montana. Brady’s time will come too.
Over the potential five seasons Brady has left, the New England Patriots can compete for 2 to 3 more Super Bowls. Even if he wins just one more, he’ll be up to 6 as the Patriots starting QB. Imagine if he gets to 7 or 8? There’s no doubting that Brady is the greatest QB of all-time, even if he himself denies it.

New England Patriots fans should enjoy the last few seasons of Tom Brady as his career winds down. He, along with Bill Belichick, changed the culture and the expectations in New England. If you, like me, have been lucky enough to live through and remember all of Brady’s years, cherish it. The time will come when you can tell your children or grandchildren about the golden age of watching TB12 lead our franchise.
