The night went exactly how many thought it would for the Boston Bruins.

Let’s start with the good news for Boston Bruins fans. Patrice Bergeron won his 4th, yes 4th, Selke Trophy as the leagues best defensive forward.

That leaves him tied with hall of famer Bob Gainey for the most awards of all time.

This award further cements Bergeron’s place in history for the both the Bruins and the NHL. It is becoming ever more clear that he will see his number hang in the rafters of TD Garden when his playing days come to an end.

Let’s up that his reload will be successful and he can add another cup or two to his resume.

More from Boston Bruins

See ya later Chiller!

As many expected, the Vegas Golden Knights selected Colin Miller from the Boston Bruins.

Is it tough to see a young talented player leave for nothing? Sure, but it’s not the end of the world.

Most of the people angry about this are those who thought that Sweeney should have protected Chiller instead of Kevan Miller.

While Killer is more expensive, older and not as offensively gifted, I actually agree with this move.

Trust me, I love the youth movement as much if not more than the next guy. I just don’t think Colin Miller is a good defenseman.

Yes, I know he has a hard shot and is a good skater. That doesn’t make up for his utter lack of hockey sense. Watch a game and you’ll see how much better Killer is right now.

Plus he is an offensive Dman, and the Bruins already have McAvoy and Krug as fixtures of their unit for the future. Chiller doesn’t really fit in long term and he isn’t great now, so not a huge loss in me eyes.

Marchand named a1st Team All-Star

This was a nice way to close the night. After his impressive 85 point campaign, Marchand was recognized as the leagues top LW. Let’s hope this wasn’t a one year thing.
