The Patriots and Eagles will meet in Super Bowl LII less than a week from now. Madden 18 thinks they already know who will win it all!

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady graced the cover of Madden 18, and he seems to have broken the Madden curse as he has his team ready to play in Super Bowl LII. On Sunday, New England will face Philadelphia in Minnesota, and the EA Sports team for Madden 18 simulated that matchup.

The video game has Brady and the Patriots winning a sixth Lombardi Trophy, which would tie them up with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most all-time. The simulation ended with New England on top 24-20.

EA Sports also predicts that TB12 will win another Super Bowl MVP Award. The video game has historically been pretty accurate too. They began simulating the big game in 2004, and in 14 seasons they have correctly predicted who the winner will be 10 times.

The Madden 18 simulation actually gives the Eagles an early edge with a Jay Ajayi rushing touchdown while they hold the Patriots to just a field goal. A late first quarter field goal for Philly makes it 10-3 early. That wouldn’t be great for New England, but it would be the first time ever that they have scored in the first quarter of a Super Bowl. The script changes in the second quarter though as the Patriots take control before halftime. The simulation has Tom Brady throwing touchdown passes to both Rob Gronkowski and Brandin Cooks, while the Patriots defense limits the Eagles to just 3 more points. At this point, the Patriots would have a 17-13 lead at the break.

Philly brings second-half pressure in the simulation, sacking Brady twice. That pressure also forces an interception that Nick Foles turns into a touchdown to Alshon Jeffrey. That’s the only score of the third quarter as the Eagles hold a 20-17 lead heading into the final frame.

Down the stretch, two of the most clutch players on the New England roster step up to lead the Patriots to victory. The third touchdown of the day for Tom Brady is predicted to go to Danny ‘Playoff’ Amendola. The score gives New England the 24-20 lead early in the 4th. The simulation actually predicts a late Dion Lewis fumble though, giving the Eagles one more chance. Stephon Gilmore then steps up to knock away a pass from Nick Foles to Alshon Jeffrey as time expires.

Madden 18 gives Brady 342 yards in the game, while Eagles QB Nick Foles has just 241. Gronk is the game’s leading receiver with 107 yards on just 4 catches including a touchdown.

The simulation has been spot on for the Patriots in recent years as they had the correct score for both Super Bowl XLIX and Super Bowl LI. New England, of course, hopes that the simulation is right again so that they can celebrate a victory on Sunday night. The actual game will be played at 6:30 PM EST on Sunday, February 4th at U.S. Bank Stadium. Chowder and Champions will have the latest news and analysis as Super Bowl week rages on.
