Boston Bruins: Prospect Ryan Donato tearing it up at the Olympics
By Sam Minton
The Harvard center single-handedly won team USA’s last game. If he was to join the Boston Bruins this season he could be an instant threat.
Ryan Donato is living a pretty awesome life right now. At Harvard he is dominating, he is playing for the United State’s in the Olympics, and if he plays his cards right he may even help the Boston Bruins make a run for the Stanley Cup.
Donato is having one hell of a season at Harvard. In 23 games he has scored 21 goals. The Bruins prospect is looking like he can help out the pro club already.
Donato scores 2 goals in USA victory
We were all sleeping while Team USA was playing Slovakia. Ryan Donato was the only goal scorer in the game scoring both of his goals on the powerplay. The first goal was a beaut. Donato unleased an absolute cannon of a wrist shot to notch his first goal of the tourney.
The second goal was the result of a great spin move by the Bruins prospect and he snuck it past the Slovakian goaltender. Donato showed some great hockey IQ by getting to the front off the net right off of the faceoff.
After losing there first game of the Olympics, Donato and team USA showed great resiliency with their effort on Friday.

Ready for a run?
If he hasn’t proved it to you yet, Donato’s performance against the world’s best athletes proves he is ready for the NHL. Harvard’s season is nearing its end and that means like Charlie McAvoy last season, Donato could join the Bruins as they try to make a run for the cup.
Even though Donato is a natural center, the Bruins could use his left-handed shot on the wing. The Bruins are going to have to keep this in their back pocket when they are making possible moves at the deadline.
