SF Rudy Gay

One of the more underrated players of his generation, Rudy Gay is getting up there in age.

During his recent tenure in Sacramento, he was one of the lone scoring threats on the team and was a constant 18 point a game guy. However, a recent slew of injuries made his career trend downward.

This past season Gay signed with the San Antonio Spurs. In a limited role, Gay played decently. He scored over 10 points a game and Popovich got him to play some defense.

He has always been a very prolific scorer, but the defense has made him a more complete player. In stretches, last season the Boston Celtics bench was very cold and looked lost at times. However, Gay can completely change that.

Gay is capable of playing ISO ball, playing the wing or even starting at the block if playing a smaller defender. His amazing offensive versatility makes him a desired commodity. However, Gay signed with San Antonio in hopes of capturing a ring.

At this point in time, the Celtics are closer to capturing a title then the Spurs, and I think Gay can see that. If he truly wants to win a ring and contribute to a great team, the Celtics are the team for him.

If he takes less money in hopes of winning a title, then around $6 million is all it will cost for one of the best veteran bench players in today’s game. Gay and the Boston Celtics seem like a match too good to be true.
