Joe Kelly

Joe Kelly has been with the Boston Red Sox since 2014. Kelly has recently been converted from a starter to the bullpen in the middle of the 2016 season. He has been famous for his 100 mph fastball, and most recently, punching Tyler Austin of the New York Yankees in a bench-clearing brawl way back on April 11.

This season, Joe Kelly has posted a 4.21 ERA with 51 strikeouts in 51.1 innings of work. Since the All-Star break, Kelly has an ERA of 3.86 with 10 strikeouts in 11.2 innings over 12 games. He has been better since the mid-summer classic.

It is always nice to have a hard-throwing righty coming out of the pen late in games. Joe Kelly is going to be an important part of this bullpen come October. He has the potential to be the bridge to Craig Kimbrel, it all depends on how the manager wishes to play things out.
