New England Patriots: 5 players we wish were in New England
By Sam Minton
Todd Gurley
The New England Patriots haven’t had the best of luck in the rushing department since LeGarrette Blount left. If the Patriots had a guy like Todd Gurley they may be able to survive Tom Brady’s eventual retirement.
Gurley is an amazing running back especially with all he has gone through. He suffered an awful ACL injury while at Georgia in college. Some players may never be the same after that injury, but Gurley has arguably come back better than ever.

Gurley is coming off the best season of his career. He had 279 carries for 1305 yards and 13 touchdowns. What is even more amazing is that he had 64 catches for 788 receiving yards and 6 receiving touchdowns. The guy can truly do it all.
If the Patriots had Gurley when Brady decides to retire they could just hand the ball off to him and when the Patriots decided to pass Gurley could be a failsafe that could be relied upon to catch the ball out of the backfield.
Gurley doesn’t need a lot. If he was on the Patriots he would absolutely dominate the league.
